Needs Assessment Study under the Green Resilient Village Project

With the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of the real needs, challenges, risks, opportunities, and priorities of the people of Sidhai Char, Mollarchar Union, Gaibandha Sadar, Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation (SGF), with the support of ActionAid Bangladesh, has conducted a Needs Assessment Study under the “Green Resilient Village” Project. The main objective of this activity was to understand the actual situation of local people in areas including their livelihoods, climate and disaster-related risks, agriculture and income sources, environment, waste management, water and sanitation, and to establish a strong foundation for taking effective and sustainable initiatives based on the actual needs of the community.

Grant Support from Bangladesh National Social Welfare Council for FY 2025–26

A grant cheque of BDT 25,000 (Twenty-Five Thousand Taka only) for the 2025–26 fiscal year from the Bangladesh National Social Welfare Council was handed over to the members of Srijonshil Gaibandha by the Upazila Social Services Office, Gaibandha Sadar, Gaibandha. The cheque was handed over by Mr. Sabuj Kumar Basak, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Gaibandha Sadar, and Mr. Md. Nasir Uddin Shah, Upazila Social Services Officer. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Ranjan Chandra Debnath, Md. Nishad Babu, along with other members of Srijonshil Gaibandha, were present on the occasion.

This morning, 16 August 2026, as part of the Project Kickoff & Community Meeting activities of the Green Resilient Village Project of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation, a courtesy meeting was held at the Upazila Social Services Office, Gaibandha Sadar, Gaibandha. During the meeting, Mr. Md. Nasir Uddin Shah, Upazila Social Services Officer, was briefed on the project’s goals, objectives, and planned activities. He expressed his interest in the project and showed a positive attitude toward cooperation and coordination at the local level.

Young Volunteer Leaders Join Anti-Corruption Workshop in Gaibandha

With a shared commitment to building a corruption-free, transparent, accountable, and sustainable society, a workshop titled "Sustainable Development and Institutional Good Governance: The Role of Youth Organizers" was held in Gaibandha on 23 July 2026. The event was jointly organized by the Conscious Citizens' Committee (SONAK), Gaibandha, and the Youth Engagement and Support (YES) Group, Gaibandha, under the inspiration of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB). More than fifty young representatives from 17 volunteer organizations across the district participated in the workshop.

Prize Distribution on the 24th Anniversary of Trisha Smriti Library

The program began with a performance of a song by the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. As part of the Nazrul Centenary, various competitions were organized to introduce children to the life, literature, and creative works of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. On-site Observation by Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation at Shildah Char, Jamalpur

Due to climate change, people living in the riverine char (sandbar) areas of Bangladesh face annual flooding, riverbank erosion, and various natural disasters. The lack of safe housing makes their lives even more vulnerable. Considering this reality, a four-member delegation from Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation visited Shildah Char in Belgacha Union under Islampur Upazila of Jamalpur District on 30–31 July 2026, where they conducted an on-site observation of the Khudi Bari initiative implemented by FACE Bangladesh.

Tree Plantation Program Held at Gaibandha Government College to Promote Environmental Conservation

A tree plantation program was organized at Gaibandha Government College through the joint initiative of Prothom Alo Gaibandha Bondhusobha and Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation to promote environmental conservation, protect biodiversity, and raise awareness about climate change. The program was inaugurated by Professor Md. Abdur Rashid, Principal of Gaibandha Government College, who planted a medicinal tree sapling as a symbol of the campaign. He emphasized the importance of tree plantation in ensuring environmental sustainability and building a greener future for the next generation.
