Supporting Merit and Dreams: Scholarship and Recognition Ceremony Held in Gaibandha

With the commitment that “Where there is merit, there is potential,” a scholarship and recognition ceremony was held in Gaibandha for meritorious and financially disadvantaged students, along with students who achieved outstanding results in the SSC 2026 examinations. This was the third consecutive year of the initiative.

With dreams in one hand and financial limitations in the other, a group of talented students in Gaibandha had been moving forward despite various challenges. Although their academic performance reflected their merit, the financial realities of their families had made the path toward higher education uncertain for many of them. Some have fathers working in low-income jobs, some come from families struggling to bear the educational expenses of multiple children, while others live in households where meeting daily necessities is itself a challenge. Yet, their dreams did not stop. They believe that with the right opportunities, merit can change the course of their lives.

To strengthen that belief, scholarships were provided to meritorious and financially disadvantaged students in Gaibandha. At the same time, students who achieved outstanding results in the SSC 2026 examinations were honored for their achievements. As the students received scholarship funds, books, certificates, and recognition items, the event reflected a mixture of achievement, hope for the future, and renewed motivation to move forward.

The ceremony, titled “SSC Scholarship and GPA-5 Achievers’ Recognition 2026,” was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, 21 September, at the Department of Philosophy of Gaibandha Government College. The event was jointly organized by Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation, Shoe Palace, Fashion Palace, and Boi Ghor Pathagar.

The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Following this, a presentation and session on self-development and future planning for students was conducted by A.B.M. Zillur Rahman, Adviser of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation.

The welcome address was delivered by Md. Mehedi Hasan, Founder and President of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation and Boi Ghor Pathagar. He outlined the objectives of the scholarship initiative, as well as the application, verification, selection, and evaluation processes.

The organizers stated that the scholarships are intended to support meritorious students who are financially disadvantaged, marginalized, underserved, or facing special circumstances so that they can continue their education. Beyond financial assistance, the initiative also aims to strengthen students’ confidence and develop a positive outlook toward their future education and careers. At the same time, the recognition of students who performed well in the SSC 2026 examinations was intended to acknowledge and celebrate their achievements.

During the program, scholarship recipients and their guardians shared their experiences and feelings. The students spoke about their studies, their families’ financial circumstances, and their dreams for the future. Their stories highlighted how even modest support can sometimes make the path forward easier for a student. Later, the guests addressed the students and emphasized the importance of continuing their education, developing skills, and setting clear goals for the future.

Among those present were Professor Md. Abdur Rashid, Principal of Gaibandha Government College; Professor Khalilur Rahman, former Principal of the college and Adviser of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation; Professor Anisa Akhter Begum Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Philosophy; Md. Masudur Rahman, Secretary of the Teachers’ Council; Afroza Begum Lupu, Adviser of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation; and Md. Abul Hossain Mridha Sohag, Director of Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Proprietor of Shoe Palace and Fashion Palace, along with people from various professions and sectors.

Also present were A.B.M. Zillur Rahman, Adviser of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation; Md. Abdul Kaiyum Azad, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Gaibandha Government College; Md. Rashed Mia, Lecturer in Islamic History and Culture; Md. Nasir Uddin Shah, Social Services Officer of Gaibandha Sadar Upazila; Shahabul Shaheen Tota, Prothom Alo correspondent and Adviser of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation; Mostafizur Rahman, Station Manager of Radio Sarabela; and Kuddus Alam, photojournalist of Focus Bangla. Members of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation and Boi Ghor Pathagar were also present. The program was moderated by Athhar Mihda Tuba, Project Officer of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation.

During the ceremony, scholarship recipients received cash educational support along with recognition crests, pen holders, notepads, books, certificates, and discount cards. Students who achieved outstanding results in the SSC 2026 examinations were also honored.

Special recognition was given to Raiyan Janik Sarker, a student of Ahmed Uddin Shah Shishu Niketan School and College. In the SSC 2026 examination, he achieved third place in the Dinajpur Education Board and first place in Gaibandha District in the Science group.

The organizers said that the scholarship initiative aims to ensure that a student’s merit does not come to a halt simply because of financial limitations. They expressed hope that the support and recognition provided through the initiative would strengthen the students’ confidence in their future journey and inspire them to contribute positively to society and the country while pursuing their dreams.

মেধা ও স্বপ্নের পাশে গাইবান্ধায় শিক্ষাবৃত্তি ও কৃতী সংবর্ধনা

“মেধা যেখানে, সম্ভাবনা সেখানে” এই প্রত্যয়কে সামনে রেখে তৃতীয়বারের মতো গাইবান্ধায় মেধাবী ও আর্থিকভাবে অসচ্ছল শিক্ষার্থীদের শিক্ষাবৃত্তি এবং এসএসসি ২০২৬ পরীক্ষায় কৃতিত্ব অর্জনকারী শিক্ষার্থীদের সংবর্ধনা দেওয়া হয়েছে।

এক হাতে স্বপ্ন, অন্য হাতে সীমাবদ্ধতার হিসাব এভাবেই পথ চলছিল গাইবান্ধার একদল মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থীর। পরীক্ষার খাতায় মেধার স্বাক্ষর থাকলেও পরিবারের আর্থিক বাস্তবতা অনেকের উচ্চশিক্ষার পথকে অনিশ্চিত করে তুলেছিল। কারও বাবা স্বল্প আয়ের চাকরি করেন, কারও পরিবারে একাধিক সন্তানের পড়াশোনার ব্যয়, আবার কারও সংসারে নিত্যদিনের প্রয়োজন মেটাতেই হিমশিম খেতে হয়। তবু থেমে যায়নি তাদের স্বপ্ন। তারা বিশ্বাস করে, সুযোগ পেলে মেধাই পারে জীবনের গতিপথ বদলে দিতে।

সেই বিশ্বাসকে আরও শক্তি দিতে গাইবান্ধায় মেধাবী ও আর্থিকভাবে অসচ্ছল শিক্ষার্থীদের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে শিক্ষাবৃত্তি। একই সঙ্গে এসএসসি ২০২৬ পরীক্ষায় কৃতিত্ব অর্জনকারী শিক্ষার্থীদের জানানো হয়েছে সম্মাননা। শিক্ষার্থীদের হাতে যখন বৃত্তির অর্থ, বই, সনদ ও সম্মাননা সামগ্রী তুলে দেওয়া হচ্ছিল, তখন সেখানে ছিল অর্জনের আনন্দ, ভবিষ্যতের প্রত্যাশা আর নতুন করে এগিয়ে যাওয়ার প্রেরণা।

সোমবার (২১ সেপ্টেম্বর) সকাল ১০টায় গাইবান্ধা সরকারি কলেজের দর্শন বিভাগে ‘এসএসসি শিক্ষাবৃত্তি ও জিপিএ-৫ প্রাপ্ত কৃতী সংবর্ধনা ২০২৬’ শীর্ষক এ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশন, সু-প্যালেস, ফ্যাশন প্যালেস ও বই ঘর পাঠাগার যৌথভাবে এ আয়োজন করে।

অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতে পবিত্র কোরআন তেলাওয়াত করা হয়। এরপর শিক্ষার্থীদের আত্মউন্নয়ন ও ভবিষ্যৎ পরিকল্পনা নিয়ে প্রেজেন্টেশন ও সেশন পরিচালনা করেন সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশনের উপদেষ্টা এ বি এম জিল্লুর রহমান।

অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য দেন সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশন ও বই ঘর পাঠাগারের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ও সভাপতি মোঃ মেহেদী হাসান। তিনি শিক্ষাবৃত্তি কার্যক্রমের উদ্দেশ্য, আবেদন, যাচাই-বাছাই ও শিক্ষার্থী নির্বাচনের প্রক্রিয়া তুলে ধরেন।

আয়োজকেরা জানান, আর্থিকভাবে অসচ্ছল, প্রান্তিক, সুবিধাবঞ্চিত ও বিশেষ পরিস্থিতিতে থাকা মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থীদের শিক্ষাজীবন অব্যাহত রাখতে এ শিক্ষাবৃত্তি দেওয়া হচ্ছে। শুধু আর্থিক সহায়তা নয়, শিক্ষার্থীদের আত্মবিশ্বাস বাড়ানো এবং ভবিষ্যৎ শিক্ষাজীবনের প্রতি ইতিবাচক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি তৈরিও এ উদ্যোগের অন্যতম উদ্দেশ্য। পাশাপাশি এসএসসি ২০২৬ পরীক্ষায় ভালো ফলাফল করা শিক্ষার্থীদের সম্মাননার মাধ্যমে তাঁদের অর্জনকে স্বীকৃতি দেওয়া হয়েছে।

অনুষ্ঠানে বৃত্তিপ্রাপ্ত শিক্ষার্থী ও তাঁদের অভিভাবকেরা নিজেদের অনুভূতি ও অভিজ্ঞতা তুলে ধরেন। শিক্ষার্থীরা তাঁদের পড়াশোনা, পরিবারের আর্থিক বাস্তবতা এবং ভবিষ্যৎ স্বপ্নের কথা জানান। তাঁদের কথায় উঠে আসে সামান্য সহায়তাও কখনো কখনো একজন শিক্ষার্থীর সামনে এগিয়ে যাওয়ার পথকে আরও সহজ করে দিতে পারে। পরে অতিথিরা শিক্ষার্থীদের উদ্দেশে বক্তব্য দেন। তাঁরা পড়াশোনা অব্যাহত রাখা, নিজেদের দক্ষতা বিকাশ এবং ভবিষ্যৎ লক্ষ্য নির্ধারণের ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন গাইবান্ধা সরকারি কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ প্রফেসর মোঃ আব্দুর রশিদ, কলেজের সাবেক অধ্যক্ষ ও সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশনের উপদেষ্টা প্রফেসর খলিলুর রহমান, দর্শন বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান প্রফেসর আনিছা আখতার বেগম চৌধুরী, শিক্ষক পরিষদের সম্পাদক মোঃ মাসুদুর রহমান, সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশনের উপদেষ্টা আফরোজা বেগম লুপু, গাইবান্ধা চেম্বার অব কমার্স অ্যান্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রির পরিচালক এবং সু-প্যালেস ও ফ্যাশন প্যালেসের স্বত্বাধিকারী মোঃ আবুল হোসেন মৃধা সোহাগসহ বিভিন্ন শ্রেণি-পেশার ব্যক্তিরা।

এ ছাড়া উপস্থিত ছিলেন সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশনের উপদেষ্টা এ বি এম জিল্লুর রহমান, গাইবান্ধা সরকারি কলেজের রাষ্ট্রবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের সহকারী অধ্যাপক মোঃ আব্দুল কাইয়ুম আজাদ, ইসলামের ইতিহাস ও সংস্কৃতি বিভাগের প্রভাষক মোঃ রাশেদ মিয়া, গাইবান্ধা সদর উপজেলা সমাজসেবা অফিসার মোঃ নাসির উদ্দিন শাহ্, প্রথম আলোর প্রতিনিধি ও সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশনের উপদেষ্টা শাহাবুল শাহীন তোতা, রেডিও সারেবেলার স্টেশন ম্যানেজার মোস্তাফিজুর রহমান, ফোকাস বাংলার ফটো সাংবাদিক কুদ্দুস আলম। অনুষ্ঠানে সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশন ও বই ঘর পাঠাগারের সদস্যরাও উপস্থিত ছিলেন। অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রজেক্ট অফিসার আতহার মিহদা তুবা।

অনুষ্ঠানে বৃত্তিপ্রাপ্ত শিক্ষার্থীদের হাতে নগদ শিক্ষাবৃত্তির পাশাপাশি সম্মাননা ক্রেস্ট, পেন হোল্ডার, নোটপ্যাড, বই, সনদপত্র ও ডিসকাউন্ট কার্ড তুলে দেওয়া হয়। একই সঙ্গে এসএসসি ২০২৬ পরীক্ষায় কৃতিত্ব অর্জনকারী শিক্ষার্থীদেরও সম্মাননা দেওয়া হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষভাবে সম্মাননা দেওয়া হয় আহমেদ উদ্দিন শাহ শিশু নিকেতন স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজের শিক্ষার্থী রাইয়ান জানিক সরকারকে। এসএসসি ২০২৬ পরীক্ষায় বিজ্ঞান বিভাগ থেকে তিনি দিনাজপুর শিক্ষা বোর্ডে তৃতীয় এবং গাইবান্ধা জেলায় প্রথম হওয়ার কৃতিত্ব অর্জন করেছেন।

আয়োজকেরা বলেন, একটি শিক্ষার্থীর মেধা যেন শুধু আর্থিক সীমাবদ্ধতার কারণে থেমে না যায় এ লক্ষ্যেই শিক্ষাবৃত্তির এ উদ্যোগ। তাঁদের প্রত্যাশা, আজকের এই সহায়তা ও স্বীকৃতি শিক্ষার্থীদের ভবিষ্যৎ পথচলায় আত্মবিশ্বাস বাড়াবে এবং তারা নিজেদের স্বপ্ন পূরণের পাশাপাশি সমাজ ও দেশের জন্যও ইতিবাচক ভূমিকা রাখবে।
