School-Based “Environment Friends Club” Program Held at Newton Preparatory School

In Gaibandha, a youth-led initiative aimed at fostering an eco-friendly and sustainable green economy organized the “School-Based Environment Friends Club, Material Distribution & Cleanliness Program.” Held on 23 February 2026 at the Newton Preparatory School campus, this program was part of the Gaibandha EcoCycle: Youth Innovation for Green Economy initiative.

The event included the formation of the “Environment Friends Club” with students, distribution of environment-related materials, and a cleanliness drive within the school premises. Under the theme “Green School, Clean Environment,” students were engaged in activities that emphasized environmental awareness, waste management, and the importance of reuse and recycling.

The program was led by Srijonshil Gaibandha, with co-organization support from National Youth Forum Bangladesh and support from VSO Bangladesh.

Organizers highlighted that such school-based initiatives play a crucial role in cultivating eco-friendly behavior among students and ensuring active youth participation in building a sustainable green economy.

This initiative represents an important step toward creating a clean, aware, and green future in Gaibandha.

গাইবান্ধায় তরুণদের উদ্যোগে পরিবেশবান্ধব ও টেকসই সবুজ অর্থনীতি গড়ে তোলার লক্ষ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত হলো “School-Based Environment Friends Club, Material Distribution & Cleanliness Program”। ২৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২৬ তারিখে নিউটন প্রিপারেটরি স্কুল প্রাঙ্গণে আয়োজিত এ কর্মসূচি ছিল Gaibandha EcoCycle: Youth Innovation for Green Economy উদ্যোগের অংশ।

অনুষ্ঠানে শিক্ষার্থীদের নিয়ে “পরিবেশ বন্ধু ক্লাব” গঠন, পরিবেশ সুরক্ষাবিষয়ক উপকরণ বিতরণ এবং স্কুল প্রাঙ্গণে পরিচ্ছন্নতা অভিযান পরিচালনা করা হয়। “Green School, Clean Environment” প্রতিপাদ্যকে সামনে রেখে শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে পরিবেশ সচেতনতা, বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনা ও পুনর্ব্যবহারের গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরা হয়।

কর্মসূচির নেতৃত্বে ছিল সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা এবং সহ-আয়োজক হিসেবে সহযোগিতা করে National Youth Forum। কর্মসূচিটি সমর্থন প্রদান করে VSO Bangladesh (Volunteers for Development)।

আয়োজকরা জানান, স্কুলভিত্তিক এ ধরনের উদ্যোগ শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে পরিবেশবান্ধব আচরণ গড়ে তুলতে সহায়ক ভূমিকা রাখবে এবং টেকসই সবুজ অর্থনীতি গঠনে তরুণদের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ নিশ্চিত করবে।

গাইবান্ধায় একটি পরিচ্ছন্ন, সচেতন ও সবুজ ভবিষ্যৎ বিনির্মাণে এটি একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ।
