Three-Day Youth Climate Action Small Grants – Inception & Capacity Building Workshop Successfully Concluded

A three-day Youth Climate Action Small Grants – Inception & Capacity Building Workshop, aimed at promoting effective and sustainable youth-led initiatives to address climate change, was successfully concluded. The workshop was held from 12 to 14 January 2026 at the hall room of Udayan Swabalambi Sangstha in Mohammadpur, Dhaka. Youth organizations from different regions of Bangladesh actively participated in the event, emphasizing structured climate action through shared learning and experience exchange.

On the first day of the workshop, 12 January 2026, youth organizations from eight districts across eight divisions of Bangladesh, who are recipients of the Youth Climate Action Small Grants, took part in the sessions. Representatives from NYF at the divisional level and volunteers from the respective districts were also actively engaged. Their participation highlighted the strength of youth leadership, volunteer-driven initiatives, and the crucial role of young people in implementing climate programs at the local level.

During the first day’s sessions, participants were introduced to VSO’s mission, vision, and operational approach. In addition, detailed discussions were held on the objectives and structure of the Youth Climate Action Small Grants, youth leadership and inclusive participation, inclusion of children, women, and persons with disabilities (PWD), safeguarding and PSEA policies, ethics and codes of conduct, financial management and compliance, as well as Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Accountability (MEL). These sessions significantly supported participants in developing practical skills related to project planning, implementation, and reporting.

The second day of the workshop, 13 January 2026, began with a reflection and recap session on the learnings from the first day. Participants shared their experiences, key insights, and reflections with one another. This was followed by short project presentations from the eight small grant–recipient organizations representing eight districts. The presentations highlighted local-level climate issues, existing challenges, and proposed solutions, creating an effective platform for mutual learning and experience sharing.

In the later part of the second day, group work sessions on organization-based project design and planning were conducted. From Srijonshil Gaibandha, Tuba Rahman and Md. Mehedi Hasan presented their project. At this stage, participants further clarified their project objectives, activities, and expected outputs. Special emphasis was placed on aligning projects with SDG 13 (Climate Action), defining SMART indicators, and refining expected results. The VSO Climate Action Focus Areas supported participants in strengthening their projects strategically.

Subsequently, a Grant-wise Project Presentation session was held, where projects were presented in teams. After each presentation, facilitators and fellow participants provided constructive feedback, reflections, and suggestions. These inputs played a vital role in ensuring the feasibility, inclusiveness, and long-term sustainability of the proposed projects. Toward the end of the day, participants were introduced to the Activity Implementation Plan Format (Gantt Chart) and Detailed Budget Format, which clearly outlined practical aspects of project timelines and activity-based budgeting.

The third and final day of the workshop began with reflections on the learnings from the previous two days. Key sessions on this day focused on finalizing project-based implementation plans (Gantt Charts) and detailed budgets, stakeholder and role mapping, communication and visibility strategies, reporting formats, and MoU signing. Participants presented their project implementation roadmaps in groups and further refined them under the guidance of the facilitators.

During the MoU Signing ceremony, Md. Mehedi Hasan, President of Srijonshil Gaibandha, and Tuba Rahman, Project Officer, were present on behalf of the organization, along with members of NYF. The signing of the MoU further strengthened mutual cooperation, accountability, and transparency in project implementation. In the final sessions of the day, future actions, reporting timelines, and role distribution were clearly outlined, and the three-day workshop formally concluded through a comprehensive Closing Session.

Overall, the three-day Inception & Capacity Building Workshop played a significant role in strengthening the capacity of youth organizations in project planning, implementation, and reporting. At the same time, it established a strong foundation for building an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable climate future led by young people.

তরুণদের নেতৃত্বে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন মোকাবিলায় কার্যকর ও টেকসই উদ্যোগ গ্রহণের লক্ষ্যে আয়োজিত Youth Climate Action Small Grants – Inception & Capacity Building Workshop-এর তিন দিনব্যাপী কার্যক্রম সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। গত ১২ থেকে ১৪ জানুয়ারি ২০২৬ পর্যন্ত ঢাকার মোহাম্মদপুরে অবস্থিত উদয়ন স্বাবলম্বী সংস্থার হল রুমে এই ওয়ার্কশপ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। আয়োজনে বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলের যুব সংগঠনগুলোর সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ ও পারস্পরিক অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময়ের মধ্য দিয়ে জলবায়ু কার্যক্রমকে আরও সুসংগঠিত করার ওপর গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়।

ওয়ার্কশপের প্রথম দিন, ১২ জানুয়ারি ২০২৬, বাংলাদেশের ৮টি বিভাগের ৮টি জেলার Youth Climate Action Small Grants প্রাপ্ত যুব সংগঠন এই কার্যক্রমে অংশগ্রহণ করে। এদিন NYF-এর বিভাগীয় পর্যায়ের প্রতিনিধিবৃন্দ এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট জেলার স্বেচ্ছাসেবকরাও সক্রিয়ভাবে যুক্ত ছিলেন। তাদের অংশগ্রহণ যুব নেতৃত্বের শক্তি, স্বেচ্ছাসেবকভিত্তিক কার্যক্রম এবং স্থানীয় পর্যায়ে জলবায়ু কর্মসূচি বাস্তবায়নে তরুণদের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা স্পষ্টভাবে তুলে ধরে।

প্রথম দিনের বিভিন্ন সেশনে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের জন্য VSO-এর মিশন, ভিশন ও কার্যক্রমের পরিচিতি প্রদান করা হয়। পাশাপাশি Youth Climate Action Small Grants-এর উদ্দেশ্য ও কাঠামো, যুব নেতৃত্ব ও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক অংশগ্রহণের গুরুত্ব, শিশু, নারী ও প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিদের (PWD) অন্তর্ভুক্তি, সেফগার্ডিং ও PSEA নীতিমালা, নৈতিকতা ও কোড অব কন্ডাক্ট, আর্থিক ব্যবস্থাপনা ও কমপ্লায়েন্স এবং মনিটরিং, ইভ্যালুয়েশন, লার্নিং অ্যান্ড অ্যাকাউন্টেবিলিটি (MEL) সংক্রান্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়গুলো বিস্তারিতভাবে আলোচনা করা হয়। এসব সেশন অংশগ্রহণকারীদের প্রকল্প পরিকল্পনা, বাস্তবায়ন ও রিপোর্টিংয়ে বাস্তবভিত্তিক দক্ষতা অর্জনে উল্লেখযোগ্য সহায়তা করে।

ওয়ার্কশপের দ্বিতীয় দিন, ১৩ জানুয়ারি ২০২৬, শুরু হয় প্রথম দিনের শেখা বিষয়গুলোর ওপর রিফ্লেকশন ও রিক্যাপ সেশনের মাধ্যমে। এ সময় অংশগ্রহণকারীরা তাদের শেখা বিষয়, অভিজ্ঞতা ও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপলব্ধিগুলো একে অপরের সঙ্গে ভাগাভাগি করেন। পরবর্তীতে ৮টি জেলার ৮টি স্মল গ্র্যান্টপ্রাপ্ত সংগঠন নিজ নিজ প্রকল্পের সংক্ষিপ্ত উপস্থাপনা প্রদান করে। এসব উপস্থাপনায় স্থানীয় পর্যায়ের জলবায়ু সমস্যা, বিদ্যমান চ্যালেঞ্জ এবং সম্ভাব্য সমাধানগুলো তুলে ধরা হয়, যা পারস্পরিক শেখা ও অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময়ের একটি কার্যকর ক্ষেত্র তৈরি করে।

দ্বিতীয় দিনের পরবর্তী অংশে সংগঠনভিত্তিক প্রকল্প ডিজাইন ও পরিকল্পনা নিয়ে গ্রুপ ওয়ার্ক সেশন পরিচালিত হয়। এ সময় সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা’র পক্ষ থেকে তুবা রহমান ও মোঃ মেহেদী হাসান প্রকল্প উপস্থাপন করেন। এই ধাপে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা তাদের প্রকল্পের উদ্দেশ্য, কার্যক্রম ও প্রত্যাশিত আউটপুট আরও সুস্পষ্টভাবে নির্ধারণ করেন। পাশাপাশি SDG 13 (Climate Action)-এর সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে SMART Indicator নির্ধারণ এবং Expected Results পরিমার্জনের ওপর বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়। VSO-এর Climate Action Focus Area অংশগ্রহণকারীদের প্রকল্পগুলোকে কৌশলগতভাবে আরও শক্তিশালী করতে সহায়তা করে।

পরে Grant-wise Project Presentation সেশন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়, যেখানে দলভিত্তিকভাবে প্রকল্প উপস্থাপন করা হয়। প্রতিটি উপস্থাপনার পর ফ্যাসিলিটেটর ও অন্যান্য অংশগ্রহণকারীদের পক্ষ থেকে গঠনমূলক মতামত, প্রতিফলন ও পরামর্শ প্রদান করা হয়। এসব মতামত প্রকল্পগুলোর বাস্তবতা, অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি এবং দীর্ঘমেয়াদি টেকসই প্রভাব নিশ্চিত করতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখে। দিনের শেষভাগে Activity Implementation Plan Format (Gantt Chart) এবং Detail Budget Format সম্পর্কে ধারণা প্রদান করা হয়, যেখানে প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়নের সময়রেখা ও কার্যক্রমভিত্তিক বাজেট প্রণয়নের বাস্তব দিকগুলো স্পষ্টভাবে তুলে ধরা হয়।

ওয়ার্কশপের তৃতীয় ও শেষ দিন আগের দুই দিনের শেখা বিষয়গুলোর ওপর রিফ্লেকশন দিয়ে শুরু হয়। এদিন প্রকল্পভিত্তিক ইমপ্লিমেন্টেশন প্ল্যান (Gantt Chart) ও ডিটেইল বাজেট চূড়ান্তকরণ, স্টেকহোল্ডার ও ভূমিকা নির্ধারণ, কমিউনিকেশন ও ভিজিবিলিটি কৌশল, রিপোর্টিং ফরম্যাট এবং MoU Signing-এর ওপর বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়। অংশগ্রহণকারীরা দলভিত্তিকভাবে তাদের প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়নের রোডম্যাপ উপস্থাপন করেন এবং ফ্যাসিলিটেটরদের দিকনির্দেশনায় সেগুলো আরও পরিমার্জন করেন।

এই দিনে অনুষ্ঠিত MoU Signing অনুষ্ঠানে সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা’র পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সংগঠনের সভাপতি মোঃ মেহেদী হাসান এবং প্রজেক্ট অফিসার তুবা রহমান, পাশাপাশি NYF-এর সদস্যবৃন্দ। MoU স্বাক্ষরের মাধ্যমে প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়নে পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতা, দায়বদ্ধতা ও স্বচ্ছতার ভিত্তি আরও সুদৃঢ় হয়। দিনের শেষভাগে ভবিষ্যৎ করণীয়, রিপোর্টিং টাইমলাইন ও দায়িত্ব বণ্টন স্পষ্ট করা হয় এবং একটি সমৃদ্ধ Closing Session-এর মাধ্যমে তিন দিনের এই ওয়ার্কশপের আনুষ্ঠানিক সমাপ্তি ঘটে।

সার্বিকভাবে, তিন দিনব্যাপী এই Inception & Capacity Building Workshop যুব সংগঠনগুলোর প্রকল্প পরিকল্পনা, বাস্তবায়ন ও রিপোর্টিং সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধিতে একটি শক্তিশালী ভূমিকা পালন করেছে। একই সঙ্গে এটি যুবদের নেতৃত্বে একটি অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক, সহনশীল ও টেকসই জলবায়ু ভবিষ্যৎ গড়ে তোলার পথে একটি দৃঢ় ভিত্তি স্থাপন করেছে।
