Ushnota 2026: Winter Humanitarian Support for Cold-Affected Communities

Winter brings comfort for some, but for many it means long nights of hardship. With the humanitarian goal of easing this suffering, ABCD, in collaboration with RHSTEP and Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation, implemented the winter assistance initiative titled “Ushnota 2026.” The core objective was simple yet powerful to stand beside people shivering in the cold.

On Saturday, January 10, 2026, field activities were conducted in Uttor Uriya and Gubri areas of Fulchhari Upazila, Gaibandha district. During the field visit, the silent struggles of cold-affected people were clearly visible. Keeping this reality in mind, beneficiaries were carefully selected for the distribution of blankets and winter clothing.

The beneficiaries included children, adolescents, persons with disabilities, and elderly men and women those for whom winter is particularly harsh and life-threatening.

The activity was supervised at the field level by Mr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, President of Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation, and Mr. Md. Tajbiul Islam, Youth Officer of RHSTEP. They interacted with local community members, listened to their concerns, and ensured that the support reached the truly deserving individuals.

“Ushnota 2026” is more than just a program it is an expression of human responsibility and compassion toward fellow human beings. If this small initiative can make a few nights warmer and bring smiles to a few faces, then our effort will truly be meaningful.

উষ্ণতা ২০২৬: শীতার্ত মানুষের পাশে মানবিক সহায়তা কার্যক্রম

শীত মানেই কারও কাছে আরাম, আবার কারও কাছে কষ্টের দীর্ঘ রাত। এই কষ্ট লাঘব করার মানবিক লক্ষ্য নিয়ে এবিসিডি’র আয়োজনে এবং আরএইচস্টেপ ও সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশনের সহযোগিতায় “উষ্ণতা ২০২৬” শীতকালীন সহায়তা কার্যক্রম বাস্তবায়ন করা হয়। উদ্দেশ্য একটাই শীতে কাঁপতে থাকা অসহায় মানুষগুলোর পাশে দাঁড়ানো।

শনিবার, ১০ জানুয়ারি ২০২৬, গাইবান্ধা জেলার ফুলছড়ি উপজেলার উত্তর উড়িয়া ও গুভরি এলাকায় মাঠপর্যায়ের কার্যক্রম পরিচালিত হয়। ফিল্ড ভিজিটে শীতের তীব্রতায় নীরবে কষ্ট সহ্য করা মানুষের জীবনচিত্র আমাদের গভীরভাবে নাড়া দেয়। সেই বাস্তবতাকে সামনে রেখে কম্বল ও শীতবস্ত্র বিতরণের জন্য সুবিধাভোগী নির্বাচন করা হয়।

এই তালিকায় অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিলেন শিশু, কিশোর-কিশোরী, প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তি এবং বয়স্ক নারী-পুরুষ যাঁদের জন্য শীতকাল সবচেয়ে বেশি ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ ও কষ্টকর।

কার্যক্রমে উপস্থিত থেকে মাঠপর্যায়ে তদারকি করেন সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশনের সভাপতি মোঃ মেহেদী হাসান এবং আরএইচস্টেপের ইয়ুথ অফিসার মোঃ তাজবিউল ইসলাম। তাঁরা স্থানীয় জনগণের সঙ্গে কথা বলেন, তাদের প্রয়োজন ও বাস্তব অভিজ্ঞতা শোনেন এবং নিশ্চিত করেন যেন সহায়তা প্রকৃত মানুষের হাতেই পৌঁছে যায়।

“উষ্ণতা ২০২৬” কেবল একটি সহায়তা কার্যক্রম নয় এটি মানুষের প্রতি মানুষের দায়িত্ববোধ ও সহমর্মিতার প্রতিফলন। এই ছোট্ট উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে যদি কয়েকটি রাত একটু উষ্ণ হয়, কয়েকটি মুখে হাসি ফোটে তবেই আমাদের এই প্রয়াস সার্থক।
